Options Mastery 2007 Edition - A Key To
Unlock Stock Options As A Wealth Creation Tool
Options University Delivers One Of The
Best Option Trading Educational Series Available On The Trading
Floor Or To The Retail Public At An Incredible Price
Savings

Stock options are one of the best wealth creation and
preservation tools on the planet. They are used by large
institutional investors and wealthy individuals to enhance and
protect the vast sums of wealth that they manage. With
stock options now traded on multiple exchanges, commissions at
very affordable rates, and a growing number of options savvy
brokers, the only barrier that stands between you and these
wealth creation tools is a good stock options education.
Ron Ianieri Delivers A Professional Trading Curriculum
Ron Ianieri is a former floor trader who
developed sufficient respect in the industry for his
knowledge that he was hired to teach other traders about
options. That curriculum that Ron Ianieri taught to
other traders is the heart of his Options Mastery
Series.
The Options Mastery Series has been fully revised for
2007. It incorporates the latest developments in the
options trading world and is designed to provide the student
with a fundamental understanding of how options work and how
they can be used in the market for the creation and
preservation of wealth.
This options course consists of a series of video
presentations by Ron Ianieri. The videos are organized
into four modules, with each module consisting of several DVD
video discs. Written materials accompany the videos as an
additional reference source.
The Options Mastery course is not another hype filled,
superficial trading course. The material covered is
solid. Most people taking this course will need to view
the each video more than once to full understand the concepts
being taught. Options are a relatively complex subject
and many "big name" educators avoid tackling the complexities
of options for fear of losing their audience. As a
result, the audience does not learn what they need to
understand to be profitable. Ron Ianieri and Options
University not only tackles the tough subjects, but Ron tackles
them in a way that makes this tough theoretical subject
understandable to the average person.
Options Pricing Models Explained
Stock options are "derivative" securities. What that
means is that the price of an option is derived from factors
other than the option itself. The relationship of these
factors has been explained through a mathematical formula,
commonly referred to as the "Black-Scholes Model." That
formula is the foundation upon which we can begin to build an
understanding of how options work.
Ron Ianieri starts the course by delving into the
Black-Scholes pricing model, as well as other pricing
models. What you learn is that while it is not
particularly important for you to be able to calculate option
prices by hand, it is important that you understand the factors
that effect option prices and how they interact with each
other.
Obviously, option pricing models are an
advanced subject. Many other educators do not cover
this material in detail or, if they do, they save this
material for advanced seminars. This results in a
knowledge gap and leaves their students in a vulnerable
position should they attempt to trade the markets without
first learning what will cause the value of their options
position to increase or decrease.
In its eight video discs, Module 1 of the Options Mastery
program introduces the topic of options and then embarks upon
an exploration of the option pricing model and a detailed
explanation of each input to the model. Once you complete
Module 1, you will understand how stock prices effect option
values, how market volatility can cause your position to rise
or fall, how time can be used to your benefit, as well as the
effects of possible dividends and interest rates.
Call Options, Put Options And Synthetic
Stock
Module 2 of Options Mastery picks up where most other
courses begin. The difference is that Module 2 follows an
indepth discussion of option pricing factors and theory
contained on eight video discs. In Module 1 you built a
foundation that is going to serve you throughout the remainder
of the Options Mastery course and throughout the entirety of
your options trading career.
The second module consists of seven video discs that walk
you through the features of call options and put options, then
demonstrates how best to use calls or puts to take advantage of
anticipated price moves. If you have ever spotted a stock
that you were confident was going to trade higher, but was
puzzled about how best to take advantage of the price move, you
will appreciate Ron Ianieri's teachings on this subject.
Once you understand the nature of calls and puts, you will
then be ready to touch upon the subject of synthetic
positions. You will learn how to create synthetic
stock. If you understand the concept of synthetic stock,
you will then be positioned to see how different stock or
option positions can be adjusted so as to create new positions
with more favorable risk characteristics.
Synthetic positions is another subject that many other
options educators simply do not address unless it is in an
advanced course offering. One of the most important tools
you can have as an options trader is the ability to adjust
positions. The art of adjusting option positions relies
in substantial part upon an understanding of synthetics.
Once you gain this knowledge and understanding, you open the
door to a new dimension in your trading.
Covered Calls, Married Puts And Much
More!
Once you understand the nature of the call
option and the nature of the put option, as well as how
each derives its value, you are ready to apply these tools
to your stock holdings. Ask yourself how many other
covered call and married put services first educate their
clients about options before jumping into this
subject.
The covered call is a simple position to understand.
You own 100 shares of stock and you sell a call option against
the stock. That is where the simplicity ends and your
wealth becomes subject to numerous pricing factors.
Good covered call traders possess a sufficiently in depth
understanding of options to adjust and protect their covered
call positions to take advantage of changing market
conditions. Unfortuanately, most trading programs do not
address the subject properly since to do so requires an
understanding of options pricing and synthetics. Options
Mastery has already covered this material, so the discussion is
a natural progression.
Disc 2 in this module address the covered put, buy-write
strategy. This strategy is not immediately or intuitively
understood by many, but once you grasp it you will better
appreciate methods of protecting short option positions.
The protective put is covered on the next two video
discs. What you will have learned by now is that the
covered call and covered put strategies are premium collection
strategies, but that they both do very little to protect
against loss. The married put adds a layer of protection
against loss of capital. From here, the last two videos
discs explore synthetic put positions and a strategy called the
"collar."
At the conclusion of this module, you will have learned how
to use premium collection techniques to grow a portfolio and
how to protect the capital of the portfolio against loss.
As you master an understanding of the synthetic positions, you
will see how to accomplish both goals in a highly efficient
manner.
Advanced Option Strategies With An Options
Mastery Foundation
The final seven discs of the Options Mastery Series comprise
Module 4 of the course. Vertical spreads are covered in
the first video disc and you will quickly see how they are
related to the collar strategy. Not only will you learn
the basics of constructing a vertical option spread, but you
will also be taught how such spreads actually function.
Many people believe that vertical spreads
are used to benefit from directional moves, which is
true. However, the true nature of the vertical
spread is a premium collection strategy. Until you
discovery why this is the case, you will likely struggle
to make money with these positions. To further your
understanding, Ron Ianieri reviews the option greeks as
they relate to vertical spreads including a detailed
discussion about volatility pricing.
Combining vertical spreads to create a "box" position is
reviewed. Ron Ianieri reveals the "box secrets," which
will likely open your eyes even further to the
interrelationships that exist with options. Adjustments
are also reviewed
Calendar spreads, diagonal spreads, and time spreads are all
covered in detail. Ron Ianieri even delves into a "jelly
roll" which equates to calendar spreads much like a box spread
equates to vertical spreads. Adjustments for the
positions and their greeks are reviewed.
Straddles and Strangles are next in order, which are then
followed by butterflies and condors of various varieties.
With each strategy, the unique characteristics effecting the
position's value are highlighted and reviewed. How each
strategy can be used, adjusted, and closed is also covered.
The end result of this comprehensive training is that you
will possess an understanding of options that few others have
mastered. This education will form the foundation for all
future options related study and trading. As you
encounter claims of "new" option strategies, you will have the
ability to quickly distill the nature of those strategies and
assess whether they are worth investing your time in
learning.
Compare the cost of other options trading seminars and
courses with the substantive content of Options University and
Ron Ianieri's Options Mastery, 2007 Edition. You will be
hard pressed to find a better value, expect for one place.
